Hazards of Smoking
 
Since time immemorial, tobacco, opium etc., have been used for either medical purposes, or for the pure sake of pleasure. During the 15th century, the French imported tobacco from one of their colonies. Since then, the modern world has ever been under the influence of tobacco, its uses and abuses
 

Tobacco smoke contains over 4000 chemical compounds, of which the most notable one is nicotine. Many of them are carcinogenic. Nicotine toxicity especially produces circulatory disturbances. It causes arterial damages. It may produce atherogenic pathology. It precipitates cardiac diseases. Buerger’s disease (TAO) is common amongst the tobacco smokers. It increases Hyper Cholestremea. It reduces Oxygen supply to the cells. With tobacco use slow wound healing, tachycardia, neural stimulation and lethargy are experienced


It increases platelets and fibrinogen. It also increases triglycerides, vasopressin, endorphin and cortisol. It has been proven that even foetal abnormalities may be caused due to heavy smoking during pregnancy
 
Tobacco smoking aggravates Bronchial problem and the worst side of it is that a non-smoker also is prone to all the risks due to passive smoking. Hence there is a well developed awareness to stop smoking
 
   
 
As tobacco is a strong stimulant and hence is highly addictive. This great addiction is the biggest hazard and a hurdle to stop smoking. This has prompted all the health systems of the world to find out a safe and convenient solution this global threat.
